Intelligent Surface Science and Nanofabrication Group

智能化表面科学及纳米制造课题组

We are a research group affiliated to Materials Genome Institute of Shanghai University and led by Qiang Sun. We have a wide range of research interests in surface science, materials of interests from molecules to 2D materials. A particular focus is placed on the atomically precise synthesis and atomic scale characterization of novel low-dimensional nanostructures or nanomaterials through surface sensitive techniques.

The main goals of our work include:

1. Construct artificial intelligence-driven intelligent manipulation and synthesis platforms. This involves building systems that integrate artificial intelligence for real-time sensing, autonomous decision-making, and precise control of nanoscale operations.
2. Developing high-precision methodologies for materials construction at the single-molecule level. This focuses on robust techniques for fabricating stable junctions and circuits using individual molecules.
3. Realize single-molecule functional units and prototype device demonstrations. This refers to the successful implementation of molecular building blocks into working models, such as prototype molecular memories, switches or logic gates and advanced units for intelligent computing.

致力于培养具有“重基础、跨学科、国际化”的材料基因特色人才。
